Saturday Oct 9 Fused Glass & Jewelry Demo
Proctor Art Gallery will host Carol Stockdale, fused glass artist, and Joni Joachims, jewelry artist. The public may learn how cast jewelry is made and how pendants and earrings may be made from fused glass. After a discussion and question answer time, there will be a kiln opening and the public can see
the final results of fused glass art.
Saturday Oct 16 Proctor Art Gallery Art Show
Proctor Art Gallery Artists will have an “Arts Crush Art Show” displaying new art work in conjunction with a free organ concert provided by Mason United Methodist Church, 2710 N. Madison St., Tacoma, WA. The show will be held in the lobby of the church. The show will open at 5 p.m., prior to the 7 p.m. organ concert, and run through the concert. The Proctor Art Gallery will also be hosting a reception with refreshments at 3811 N. 26th Street for patrons to visit and see additional art work from the artists participating in the show from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Thursday Oct 21 “Be an Art Critic”
Proctor Art Gallery, 3811 N. 26th Street invites the public to “Be an Art Critic” from 4-8 p.m. Have you ever been to an art show and wondered how the judges decided the winners? What criteria would you use? You can help this time. PAG artists selected a subject “Pink Poppies” and each artist has created a piece using this theme. You will be the ones to compare and contrast their interpretations of the same subject. Come see how different or similar they are. You will decide which you like best and tell us why. During the show of “Pink Poppies” we will have a featured musician, classical guitarist, Jasper Tollefson, and refreshments.
Wednesday Oct 27 Reading in the Gallery
Proctor Art Gallery, LLC will be host to local poet, Carmen Sterba, and other authors for reading and discussion, from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. Coffee and cookies will be provided. Limited seating will be available.
